My home lies nestled in the mountains of my native western North Carolina. I have traveled extensively over the years including Ireland and Scotland which look very much like my Smoky Mountains. I have lived in Texas and California and traveled most of the United States. I love to wander.
I enjoy researching genealogy and belong to several historical associations. As a Daughter of the American Revolution (DAR), I dress in colonial period costumes and speak to groups about women on the battlefield during that war for independence. My five times great grandmother was on two battlefields carrying water to the troops and aiding the wounded as well as counting the dead at King's Mountain and Cowpens. I do my speaking in her honor.
I am the mother of four grown children, the grandmother of nine, and the great grandmother of two precious little ones. I hold a graduate degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Retirement allows me to indulge my passion for writing.
